Epiphany retable from Saxony

This exceptional and complete Epiphany retable, of Saxon origin, was carved around 1515 and features painted side panels. It is attributed to the "Master of the Nenkersdorf Retable."

The retable was acquired by the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht in 1999 and underwent restoration by the SRAL in 2010 and 2011. The restoration involved a detailed examination of the retable's construction and structure, followed by securing of loose paint, removal of old varnish layers and discolored retouches, filling of gaps, and retouching of losses.
