Education and training in conservation-restoration play an important role in improving the quality and expertise of the profession. SRAL has an active intern- and fellowship programme.
All applications should be sent to the SRAL secretariat - Julie Fassbender at firstname.lastname@example.org
SRAL offers internship placements for students studying at either BA or MA level as part of their training requirements. Applicants should be enrolled in a conservation programme or conservation science. The length of these placements can be adjusted to accommodate the needs of the student. These placements are self funding by the incoming student who is also responsible for their own accommodation and travel costs. Erasmus funding via the applicants home institution is often available for European candidates. Applications should include a covering letter, a CV and a letter of recommendation from their supervising tutor. Applicants should indicate which department they wish to join: paintings, polychrome sculpture or historic interiors.
SRAL offers fellowships for graduate students of conservation programmes. The length of the fellowship will be 12 months and the fellow will receive a minimum wage. Selected candidates will be responsible for their own accommodation and travel costs. Applications should include a covering letter, a CV and a letter of recommendation. Fellowship placements are available on a needs basis of the conservation studio. Start dates will reflect this.
