Safeguarding churches and collections

SRAL performs integral safety inspections in various churches and monuments on commission.
This is done in collaboration with the Huis voor de Kunsten Limburg and specialists in the field of security, fire prevention and climate control. In the past five years much experience has been gained during the project Safety and Accessibility of Churches in Limburg in which more than 40 churches and treasuries have been inspected. This project could be realised with support from the Mondriaan Foundation and the Province of Limburg. During these inspections SRAL focuses on the insidious causes of decay that endanger not only the collection but also related immovable artworks, such as wallpaintings. Following an inspection, the client will receive a detailed report with practical advice and realistic proposals for measures whereby the on-site situation can be improved.
